Independent by design

A rating authority for what agents depend on.

Agents are beginning to choose tools and endpoints on their own, sometimes with money attached. MCP Scores creates a public record of what those listings expose, whether they answer, and which evidence supports the result.

The record as it stands today

No grade is published until the archive supports one.
§ 01

Three names, three jobs.

The separation is deliberate: the body that publishes the method is not the same as the pipeline that collects the data, and neither sells a grade.

MCP Scores

The public-facing rating and this site. It publishes scorecards, the register, the badge, and the free API. It computes read-only and never writes to the archive.

MCP Authority

Owns Methodology 1.0, versions it in public, and runs the corrections and appeals process. Model changes are versioned rather than silently applied, and prior records are not retroactively rewritten.

MCPFax

The longitudinal observation record: catalogue sweeps, unpaid probes, RDAP and endpoint enrichment, and Base wallet-flow scans. It currently holds 2 day(s) of archive coverage from 2026-08-11.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell grades, expedited reviews, or removal from the register.
  • We do not accept payment from a rated operator for any placement on this site.
  • We do not publish a grade the archive cannot support, even when the page would look better with one.
  • We do not allege intent, fraud, or misconduct. We report what was observed, when, and from where.
  • We do not certify security, performance, or future conduct.
§ 02

Corrections and appeals.

A rating body that cannot be contested is a rumour with a logo.

Who can file

Anyone who operates a listing in the register, or anyone who can show that a measured statement about a listing is wrong.

What to send

Email corrections@mcpscores.com with: the listing identifier (host:… or mcp:…), the exact measured statement you are contesting, the evidence, and a reply address.

What happens next

  1. MCP Authority re-runs the observation against the evidence supplied.
  2. If the observation was wrong, the record is corrected at source and the correction is recorded in the observatory action log against that identifier.
  3. The scorecard renders the accepted correction as a dated annotation, and the same annotation appears in the corrections_applied array of the JSON payload and the MCP tool response.
  4. The model then runs again on the corrected inputs. A correction changes the evidence; it does not buy a grade.

What we will not do

We will not remove an accurate observation because it is unflattering, and we will not delete a published annotation once it exists. Disagreement about the method belongs in the methodology, which is public and versioned, not in a private edit.

Reaching us

Corrections and appeals: corrections@mcpscores.com

This address is the only supported channel for a formal correction, so that every dispute lands in one place with its evidence attached.

Every scorecard in the register carries this route in the same position, whether the listing is rated, NR, or absent from the archive.

§ 03

Where the data comes from.

Four independent collection paths, each with its own failure mode, each disclosed on the scorecard that uses it.

SourceWhat it suppliesKnown limitation
Catalogue sweepsWhich listings exist, when they appeared, when their metadata changed, when they vanishedA catalogue entry is a claim by the publisher, not a verified service
Unpaid HTTP probesReachability, HTTP status, latency, and x402 challenge validityUnpaid probes cannot prove that a paid call delivers correct data
Endpoint & RDAP enrichmentDomain registration age, llms.txt, CDN posture, MCP tool inventory, declared payment termsShared platform domains carry no attributable tenure
Base wallet-flow scansInbound USDC transfers, payer counts, concentration, modal transfer sizeInflow is not revenue; a declaration does not establish wallet ownership
